(2) Member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, category Candidate (1997-2000); titular level I (2001-to 2016); titular level II (2017-to date).
(3) Fellowship grant from the Mexican Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT) to Postdoctoral visit at the University of Maryland and Smithsonian Institution (2001-2002).
(4) Grant from Abbott Foundation for Postdoctoral visit at the University of Maryland and Smithsonian Institution (2002-2003).
(5) Grant from DGAPA (UNAM) to project IN 208407 to perform field work during the PhD work.
(6) Grant from the Mexican Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT) for two years (2001/2002) to work at the Molecular Genetics Lab.
