Biography

Jyotsna Maram was born in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India in 1983. She received BOptom degree in electrical engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS Pilani), India in 2005, and PhD in Vision science from University of Waterloo in 2012. She also received her Doctor of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry, Boston in 2014. She is currently working as a Research Associate and Investigator at the Doheny Image Reading center, Doheny Eye Institute at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA. Her research interests are in clinical trials and work on validation of non-invasive imaging techniques in the monitoring and management of ophthalmic diseases such as Age Related Macular Degeneration, Stargardt’s, and Diabetic Retinopathy etc. Her expertise is mainly on evaluating high-speed, high-resolution posterior and anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging for retina and Glaucoma at the Doheny image-reading center.
