- Dr. Shia's research interest mainly lays on structural and/or functional changes of human eye, due to either diseases or medical interventions like, stem cell implantation, drug releasing system implantation, and surgeries.
- More specifically, She is an expert on the anatomy and histology of the cornea, anterior angle of the eye, and the retina.
- Dr. Shi publishes regularly and serves as reviewers in top Vision Science Journals like Journal of Vision, and Optometry and Vision Science, etc.
- Dr. Shi currently is a postdoctoral researcher in University of California at Los Angeles.
