Biography
Dr. Deepak Kumar Semwal is an Assistant Professor at Uttarakhand Ayurved University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, specializing in phytochemistry, pharmacology, phytomedicine, drug delivery, and drug development. He earned his PhD from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University and has accumulated extensive teaching experience across multiple institutions, including graduate and postgraduate instruction in chemistry, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical chemistry at Garhwal University (2005–2010), G.B. Pant Government Engineering College (2007–2008), and Panjab University, Chandigarh (2010–2013), as well as supervision of undergraduate and master's students at Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa (2013–2015). His research contributions include over 20 indexed publications, with his most-cited work on the health benefits and limitations of rutin as a natural flavonoid (2021) receiving 156 citations. Dr. Semwal also brings valuable industrial experience from his work in research and development at an India-based pharmaceutical company.
