What the APC covers

  • Editorial and peer-review administration
  • Copyediting and production
  • HTML and PDF publication
  • Crossref DOI and bibliographic metadata registration
  • Open publication under CC BY 4.0
  • Journal hosting and publication support

IJGH does not add page, colour-figure or supplementary-material charges to the published fee schedule.

Waiver and hardship requests

Authors from World Bank low-income economies may request a full waiver. Authors from lower-middle-income economies may request a partial waiver. Other authors facing demonstrable hardship may request individual consideration. There is no automatic fixed percentage for a partial waiver; the editorial office considers the current World Bank income classification, available funding and documented hardship, and communicates any reduction in writing.

Request before editorial assessment advances

Submit a waiver or reduction request at submission, with enough information for the editorial office to assess eligibility. A request is handled separately from the editor and reviewers and does not affect the editorial decision.

Contact [email protected] for the current request process.

Editorial and financial independence

Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific merit, methodological validity, research integrity and clarity. Payment, a waiver request, membership, reviewing, editorship, sponsorship or use of an optional publisher service confers no advantage in review or acceptance.

The APC is invoiced only after acceptance. Editors and reviewers do not make fee or waiver decisions.

Withdrawal and billing terms

Manuscripts withdrawn within 3 days of submission are not subject to a withdrawal charge.

Manuscripts withdrawn more than 3 days after submission incur a withdrawal charge equal to 30% of the journal’s APC.

Authors must receive official withdrawal confirmation before submitting the manuscript to another journal.

Before acceptance

No APC is due for submission, screening, peer review or rejection.

After acceptance

The applicable APC is invoiced after the editorial decision and publishing requirements are confirmed.

Taxes and payment charges

The APC is invoiced in US dollars. Any publisher-collected tax or payment charge must be itemised on the invoice. An author’s bank or card provider may apply its own transfer or currency-conversion charge; ask the editorial office for written clarification before payment.
