Biography
Seong-Su Han, PhD, MS, is an Assistant Professor at UNMC in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. He earned his degrees from Korea University and has established a research program focused on hematologic malignancies and molecular mechanisms of lymphoproliferative diseases. His work spans the investigation of therapeutic targets in B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Burkitt lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and Waldenström macroglobulinemia, with particular emphasis on novel compounds such as piperlongumine and molecular pathways involving SUMOylation, chromatin remodeling complexes, and NF-κB signaling. His most-cited publication, "Piperlongumine inhibits the proliferation and survival of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia cell lines irrespective of glucocorticoid resistance" (2014), has been cited 22 times and exemplifies his contributions to identifying potential oncotargets and therapeutic strategies for treatment-resistant hematologic cancers.
