Ice Water Immersion as an Additional Method in Physiology Recovery in the Sport
Abstract:
Soccer has a reduced overall recovery time. If these situations are not properly controlled they can cause the athlete chronic fatigue, an increase in delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and thus result in a decrease in athletic performance. There are several therapies that have attempted to improve athletic performance, decrease the percentage of injuries and results in soccer. Training and recovery instances are opportunities to find ways to address this issue. Understanding the physiology of recovery is essential to accelerate some processes, with the aim of shortening the times. Cryotherapy could improve functional performance tests and decrease pain in soccer players. Our work design is an experimental prospective study.
Action Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targets of Renal Fibrosis
Abstract:
Renal fibrosis was a chronic and progressive process affecting kidneys in chronic kidney disease (CKD), regardless of cause. Although no effective targeted therapy yet existed to retard renal fibrosis, a number of important recent advances have highlighted the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the renal fibrosis. The advances including TGF-β/Smad pathway, oxidative stress and inflammation, hypoxia and gut microbiota-derived from uremic solutes were highlighted that could provide therapeutic targets. New therapeutic targets and strategies that are particularly promising for development of new treatments for patients with CKD were also highlighted.
First Year University Students Self-Reported Health Outcomes Over an Academic Semester

The transition to university can be a stressful time in a student’s life. Recent evidence demonstrates declining mental and physical health in college and university students compared to the general public. A prospective cohort study investigating mental and physical wellness over the course of a semester in a sample of first-year undergraduate students (N=74; 65%F) from nine faculties was completed at a large university in Canada. Sixty-eight (92%) students with a mean (SD, ±) age 18.2 ± 1.1 yrs., weight 67.9 ± 15.5 kg, height, 168.5 ± 11.6 cm and waist circumference 81.3 ± 9.8 cm completed the SF-36V2 quality of life questionnaire at the beginning and end of the semester in Fall 2014. Performing regular exercise largely can prevent or reduce the aforementioned issues that can be expected from computer and internet overuses. Physical activity such as 15 or 30 minutes walking for any break and reducing of the spending time to work with this kind of technology can account for as a helpful strategy toward living in more ideal manners.

The Knowledge Levels of Pediatricians about the Vaccination against Pertussis
Abstract:
This study aimed to assess the knowledge and attitude levels of pediatricians in terms of the pertussis vaccine. A survey study was carried out to evaluate the knowledge and attitude levels of pediatricians working in Istanbul in terms of the pertussis vaccine between May 1, 2015 and July 1, 2015. A total of 104 pediatricians who comprised of 53 male and 51 female physicians, participated in this study. It was found that 35.6% of them at low-level, 51% at middle-level and 13.5% at a high-level of knowledge. Pre-adipocytes are the precursors with the potential to make new fat cells during adipose tissue expansion. Nevertheless, the pre-adipocytes behaviors, and their possible roles in energy homeostasis have long been overlooked. Our previous study implicates that interleukin-4 (IL-4) plays a positive metabolic role by promoting insulin sensitivity and inhibiting lipid accumulation. Besides, abundant evidence shows the involvement of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) in the process of adipose tissue expansion. The present study aimed at examining the cross talk among glucose, insulin and IL-4 on regulating MMP-2 expression and activity in 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes. Resolution of Fetal Hydrops in a Case of Congenital Pulmonary Airway Malformation
Abstract:
Congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM) can often be noted on fetal ultrasound. When a CPAM is noted in the face of fetal hydrops, the outcome is dismal. Surgical interventions and administration of antenatal steroids can be considered for treatment, but in hydropic fetuses these interventions are not always successful. We present a case of CPAM with severe fetal hydrops that underwent steroid administration and multiple intrauterine surgical interventions, which resulted in an excellent neonatal outcome.
