Biography
- Dr.Vinayak Raghunathan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Implantology at the Oxford dental college, Bangalore and is currently doing his Ph.D in pursuit of a new bone graft material.
- He graduated from Saveetha Dental College and Hospital , Chennai in the year 2008 and has trained for one year extensively in Oral Implantology R.V.Dental College, Bangalore.
- He also obtained his Masters in Periodontics and Implantology in the year 2014.
- He has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and is in editorial board and also as a reviewer for various national and international journals.
- He has also received Rupees 3 lakhs as grants from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Scienes, Bangalore to conduct a research on dental implants.
- He is the academic co-ordinator from India for The POSEIDO academic network (The Periodontology, Oral Surgery, Esthetic.
- Have won "The Most Proactive academician of the year" in 2016, for his contributions in research field
- Have received university grants of 4499 USD ( Rs.3 lakhs ) to conduct a dental implant study using Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry
- Have been the chairperson for a scientific session in 68th Indian Dental Conference , Bangalore , India,
- Have been the prinicipal Investigator for a clinical trial involving Toothpastes,
- Have won "Best paper award" in 11th National Oral Medicine and Radiology conference held on 17.8.2008 in Chennai for the topic entitled "Genesis of Oral cancer"
- Have done one week research training in Indian Institute of technology ( IIT , Madras ) under Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy ( FTIR ) on the composition of BIS-GMA Orthodontic bonding adhesive for the paper presented at 61st IDA conference, Mangalore.
- Have been the creative manager for the "Mini-implant anchorage", a CDE program conducted by Dr.Seu Long from Korea in Saveetha Dental College,Chennai , India
