JHC welcomes submissions throughout the year across hypertension, cardiovascular medicine and related clinical, epidemiological and translational research.
Researchers, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams may submit evidence-led work that fits JHC’s scope and meets the journal’s author and editorial requirements.
Research JHC considers
JHC considers work with a clear hypertension, cardiovascular, vascular, or cardiometabolic research question.
Hypertension and vascular health
Blood-pressure research, hypertension management, vascular medicine and vascular disease, and cerebrovascular risk or stroke prevention.
Heart disease and rhythm
Coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, valvular disease, rheumatic heart disease, and congenital heart disease.
Prevention and cardiometabolic risk
Cardiovascular prevention, risk factors, cardiometabolic research, and population or public-health perspectives with a cardiovascular question.
Diagnostics and translation
Imaging, diagnostics, molecular and translational cardiovascular research, and evidence that clarifies clinical or biological relevance.
Who should submit
JHC is relevant to authors whose work contributes a clear cardiovascular question and evidence base.
- Clinicians and clinical researchers reporting cardiovascular evidence.
- Researchers in epidemiology, prevention, vascular biology, diagnostics, or translational medicine.
- Multidisciplinary teams whose manuscript makes the hypertension or cardiovascular relevance explicit.
Accepted article types
JHC considers the following article types when they meet the relevant scholarly and reporting requirements.

- Expert Perspectives by invitation only.
