JSN actively seeks qualified clinicians and researchers to join our editorial board. We welcome applications from established investigators, surgeons, and emerging scholars with expertise in spine medicine, neurological disorders, spinal surgery, and related clinical and research fields.

Eligibility

Prospective editors should hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent and have an established publication record in spine and neuroscience or related fields. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in areas within JSN scope and have experience with peer review as either reviewer or author.

  • Doctoral degree or equivalent in relevant clinical or research field
  • Active clinical practice or research program with recent publications
  • Prior peer review experience
  • Commitment to timely, constructive manuscript evaluation
  • No outstanding ethical concerns or conflicts of interest

Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on research expertise alignment with JSN scope, publication quality and recency, clinical experience, prior editorial or review experience, institutional standing, and geographic balance. We particularly welcome applications from researchers in underrepresented regions and emerging investigators demonstrating exceptional productivity in spine and neuroscience.

Time Commitment: Associate editors typically handle 8-12 manuscripts annually, each requiring approximately 2-4 hours for evaluation, reviewer coordination, and decision preparation.
