A route for qualified researchers to express interest in reviewing JHC manuscripts in their area of expertise.
Reviewer selection is based on relevant expertise, independence, and the needs of an individual manuscript.
The reviewer role
Reviewers provide confidential, independent, and evidence-based advice to editors.
- Accept only assignments within the reviewer’s expertise and available time.
- Assess methods, analysis, reporting, interpretation, and scholarly relevance.
- Declare competing interests and keep manuscript material confidential.
Information to provide
Send the information needed to match the applicant’s expertise to an appropriate manuscript.
- A current CV and ORCID iD where available.
- Specific areas of hypertension or cardiovascular expertise and relevant keywords.
- A concise summary of research and previous peer-review experience.
Recognition and independence
Reviewer service is independent of the consideration of a reviewer’s own manuscripts.
- Eligible reviewer discounts of up to 30% are governed by the JHC APC policy.
- Any certificate or annual acknowledgement is provided only when confirmed by the editorial office for the relevant activity period.
- Reviewer status, discounts, and recognition do not affect peer review or acceptance of the reviewer’s own work.
